On Children

'On Children' was an interesting chapter because I felt that it said a lot of the same things that I feel about the freedom children should have. The lines I liked were, "They come through you but not from you," and "You may give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls." I liked these lines because I would like to hopefully raise my children that way someday. The chapter also spoke about the parents being the bow that arrows the children into the world, and I liked that phrase because I feel like parents are the people that anchor children into the world and show them right and wrong. Parents prepare us for the real world and without them, children wouldn't be children.
